How it works: resting energy requirement = 70 × body weight0.75 kcal. It is multiplied by a factor: neutered adult cat 1.2, entire 1.4, kitten 2.5; neutered adult dog 1.6, entire 1.8, puppy under 4 months 3, from 4 months 2. Grams = calories ÷ energy per 100 g × 100.
