About the event
AVEPA-SEVC is the Southern European Veterinary Conference, run by the Spanish small animal vets' association AVEPA. In 2027 it takes place in Madrid from 11 to 13 November. The congress moves between Spain's big cities: in 2026 it is in Barcelona and in 2028 in Seville.
The 2027 programme has not yet been published, so the 2026 congress gives the overall picture. In Barcelona, more than 120 lectures are given over three days in seven parallel rooms, some at a more advanced level. All rooms have simultaneous interpreting, which makes it easier to attend from different countries.
Besides lectures, there are hands-on workshops in groups of up to 25 people, where new techniques are practised with international trainers. The programme includes iCatCare's feline medicine symposium and separate training for veterinary technical staff. The commercial exhibition has more than 100 companies showing products, services, technology and clinical solutions.
The congress is aimed at vets treating companion and exotic animals. Beyond Spain, it interests other Europeans too, as lectures are interpreted and speakers come from different countries.
