About the event

bpt-Kongress is the annual training event of the German association of practising vets, bpt. In 2026 it takes place at the Convention Center on the Hanover exhibition grounds from 19 to 21 November. It includes the association's own professional programme, a veterinary trade fair and industry seminars.

The programme follows the slogan of the association's campaign, Mehr Zeit am Tier, or more time for the animal. The slogan appears in the title of many lectures, and other speakers have been asked to give practical tips on smoother workflows, more efficient record keeping and handling bureaucracy. The organiser promises participants ideas on how the whole team can spend its time on what matters.

The content is not limited to one species. The organiser encourages people to look beyond their own patients and drop into cross-species sessions, which cover round tables, running a clinic, mental health, handing a practice over to a successor and entrepreneurship. In professional politics, the main topic is the assessment of GOT, the German veterinary fee schedule.

After several years of overlap, the congress and the EuroTier farming fair take place at different times this year. The reason is practical: fewer and fewer participants were interested in EuroTier, but the hotel prices during the fair affected everyone. The congress's playful slogan is Wie Wacken, ohne Schlamm, like the Wacken music festival without the mud.
