About the event
The Championnat de France is the main show of the French kennel club, Société Centrale Canine or SCC. The SCC is the country's national dog organisation, and the championship show is among its most important events of the year. In 2027 it takes place in Angers on 26 and 27 June.
Saturday 26 June is an international show where the French CACS certificates and the FCI's international CACIB certificates are awarded. Sunday 27 June brings the French championship itself and a second international show. Breed clubs can hold their own specialty shows alongside it.
The previous championship was held in Montluçon in June 2026, with Sunday as the main day. The venue therefore moves around France. The SCC calendar is published subject to change, so check the exact venue, schedule and entry deadlines before booking your trip.
For visitors, the show is a good opportunity to see French breeds in one place and talk to breeders. You can also see breeds that are rarely met elsewhere.

How to get there
Angers is in western France in the Loire Valley, about an hour and a half from Paris by high-speed train. The nearest large airport is Nantes.
If your dog crosses a border with you, within the EU it needs a microchip, an EU pet passport and a valid rabies vaccination. Rules differ for travellers from outside the EU, so check the current requirements with your national authority well before you travel.
