About the event
According to its organiser, MyDOG is the largest dog event in the Nordics. In 2027 it takes place at Svenska Mässan in Gothenburg from 3 to 6 January. It is run by Västra Kennelklubben and Svenska Mässan, and it turned twenty in 2026.
At its core are two international shows, MyDOG 1 and MyDOG 2. In 2026 more than 6,900 dogs competed for Best in Show, and there were about 25,000 visitors. MyDOG 1 was won by a standard poodle and MyDOG 2 by a Newfoundland. A flat-coated retriever was also honoured as the most successful show dog of the previous year.
Beyond the judging, there is plenty to do even without a show dog. The programme has agility, dock diving, nose work and freestyle, and at Rasklubbstorget you can talk to breed club representatives and look for a breed that suits you. Training sessions take place on the stages, and there is a contest for Gothenburg's most charming dog. A large trade exhibition serves all dog owners.
You can bring your own dog as a visitor if it is at least nine months old and vaccinated. All dogs go through a vet check next to the entrance. The organiser points out that the environment is full of noise and people, so owners should consider whether it suits their dog. It is often quietest just after opening.

How to get there
Svenska Mässan is in central Gothenburg next to Korsvägen, and the Gothia Towers hotel is in the same building. The organiser offers dog-friendly hotel rooms with a lift straight to the show. The airport bus to Korsvägen takes about 20 minutes.
Parking nearby can be scarce, so public transport is often the easiest way to get there.
If your dog crosses a border with you, within the EU it needs a microchip, an EU pet passport and a valid rabies vaccination. Rules differ for travellers from outside the EU, so check the current requirements with your national authority well before you travel.
